What should I do if Beckhoff twincat fails to create boot project?

Executive Summary:

During TwinCAT on-site debugging, if the program is large, CPU utilization is high, and the network is busy, there may be a problem of "Creat boot project failed!" when creating the boot program.

If the new model is developed and debugged before leaving the factory, the cause of the problem can also be found, but if the equipment has arrived at the end user's site, or even the machine is in production, and no shutdown is allowed, there is basically no way to think.

To this end, TwinCAT provides a remedy: creating a bootstrap program offline. The principle is to create a boot project program on the programming PC first, and then copy the file to the controller.

The specific operation in TwinCAT 2 is as follows:

Use the main menu Online | Create Boot Project (Offline) of PLC Control to generate a .wbp file in the same path as the .pro file on the local PC.

and then transfer the files to CX,

Enter the CX explorer and copy the wbp file to the Boot folder.

When conditions permit, restart the controller, and the.wbp file will take effect.

Note:

This step will cause the .ri file under the PLC program folder of the development PC to mismatch with the .wbp file on the controller, and will prompt for a program re-download during the next Login. As long as you confirm that the currently open Pro and running .wbp are consistent, you can download the monitoring.
