In years of technical support work, I have found that every customer who uses Beckhoff control systems will encounter some common problems when developing their first project. Instead of waiting for the next customer to come across us and solve it, it's better to make a list in advance and be prepared to prevent any potential problems. In reality, it is impossible for an engineer to have a complete understanding of all problems, and even highly experienced engineers may get stuck in a short period of time. So I am trying to collect the most common questions and list the standard answers or standardized practices we have used to solve problems in the past, hoping to help users who are new to the Beifu system avoid detours.
This list is divided into 6 categories:
- Hardware: including power supply, load, wiring, environmental temperature and humidity, wireless and slip ring transmission, and safety links
- Parameter settings: including IP and routing, enabling Ftp services, integrated UPS settings, EtherCAT master station settings, EL module or EtherCAT third-party slave station parameter settings, KL module parameter settings
- Software: including remote assistance, software authorization, and installation of additional feature packs, development environment and electronic oscilloscopes, commonly used tool software, and methods for remote maintenance
- Communication: serial and Ethernet communication, industrial Ethernet communication, fieldbus communication, dedicated communication for Beckhoff system, configuration software and high-level language, communication with touch screen
- Program: Explanation of basic framework program, alarm system (using Beckhoff HMI), parameter setting and power failure maintenance, safety chain
- Process: Motion control (axis control unit, return to origin, limit, probe, cam output), temperature control, tension control, BasicPID
